The Nike Air Max 1/97 Sean Wotherspoon is one of the most iconic Air Max collaborations ever released. Designed by Sean Wotherspoon, the co-founder of Round Two, this sneaker was the winner of Nike’s 2017 Vote Forward competition, where fans could vote for their favorite design to be produced for Air Max Day 2018.
This unique hybrid sneaker fuses the upper of the Air Max 97 with the sole unit of the Air Max 1, combining two legendary Nike silhouettes. The design is instantly recognizable due to its multi-colored corduroy upper, which is inspired by vintage Nike hats from the 1980s. The pastel shades of blue, pink, yellow, and green give the sneaker a bold, retro aesthetic. Over time, the corduroy material frays and wears in, giving each pair a unique look as it ages.
